Carol Emily Johnson (firstname.lastname@example.org) joined the firm in 1983 upon graduation with distinction from the University of North Dakota School of Law. Her undergraduate degree was also obtained at UND, graduating magna cum laude in 1980. She is licensed to practice in North Dakota and Minnesota.
Carol’s practice is dedicated exclusively to domestic relations law, representing clients in divorce/custody/paternity proceedings, drafting pre-nuptial/post-nuptial/cohabitation agreements, and handling post-judgment proceedings. She also serves as a court appointed custody/parenting time investigator, providing testimony to the court on a regular basis relative to the best interests of children. A large part of her practice includes mediation/alternative dispute resolution services, which is a very effective manner in which to achieve resolution of family related issues. She has been a mediator for the North Dakota Mediation Program since its inception.
Carol is designated as a Super Lawyer in the practice areas of Family Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution and received the 2015 Nationally Ranked Top 10 North Dakota Attorney Award by the National Academy of Family Law Attorneys. She is also involved with the North Dakota Lawyer’s Assistance Program, assisting peers whose professional responsibilities are being impacted by mental health/substance abuse issues. Carol is a past chairperson of the Inquiry Committee Northeast, a facet of the State Bar Association Disciplinary Board and a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers Of America.
